You Leong Tan

You Leong Tan is currently Chief Risk Officer for Greater China, at OCBC Bank, a Singapore-based financial institution group with regional presence primarily in Singapore, Malaysia, Greater China and Indonesia. He is responsible for the oversight of OCBC's risk management in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau Risk areas covered include credit risk management (wholesale and retail), market risk, liquidity risk, operational risk and information security.

You Leong has more than 20 years of banking experience, covering diverse functions including market risk, operational risk, business management, strategic management, treasury, asset-liability management and regional CRO. Prior to joining ZA Bank, Sonford was Chief Risk Officer of Ping An OneConnect Bank Hong Kong, where he led and managed the risk management department and directly oversaw all aspects of risk functions. 

Sonford also served as senior management in various financial institutions including DBS Bank, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and HSBC.

David Ng

Benjamin Wong

Benjamin Wong joined DBS Bank in July 2017 as Managing Director, Head of ECL Accounting & Analytics in Group Finance, responsible for group wide implementation of IFRS9.  Benjamin moved to his current role at the Risk Management Group in Oct 2018, with global responsibility for Wholesale & Retail credit risk analytics, climate change risk modelling and stress testing.  Benjamin has over 25 years of international experience in London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Toronto in the areas of credit risk management, credit & market risk analytic modelling, climate change risk and stress testing.

Prior to his positions at DBS Bank, he was the Global Head of Wholesale Risk Analytics in HSBC London responsible for leading the end-to-end development, implementation and management of global analytics and modelling systems for Wholesale Credit risk used for risk management, pricing, stress testing, IFRS9 provisioning, economic capital and regulatory RWA reporting.  Prior to this role he was the Asia Pacific Regional Head of Global Risk Analytics in HSBC Hong Kong.  He has held similar roles before in credit risk analytics in Singapore and Toronto, though he started his banking career as management associate in credit risk management in Citibank Hong Kong.

Benjamin holds Master’s degrees in Financial Engineering and Business Administration, and the designations of Sustainability & Climate Risk (SCR) Certificate, CFA, FRM, CPA and CGA.

 

Thomas Kok

Thomas is currently the Head of Group Technology Information & Cyber Risk (TICR) for the OCBC Group, where he chairs the bank's Group Technology Risk Management Committee, and is responsible for driving group-wide risk governance, risk monitoring, assessment and mitigation initiatives relating to technology, information and cyber risk.
Prior to his current role, he has served in regional and global leadership positions across Technology Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, and Information Technology Management in DBS Group, Credit Suisse AG, UOB Group and Citibank.
Thomas contributes actively to the development of the industry by participating in various committees and working groups.  These include being the vice chair of ABS Standing Committee on Cyber Security (SCCS), and chair of ABS Working Group on Revision of MAS Tech Risk Management Guidelines (PEGASUS).  Previously, he has also served as organising committee chairperson of the ABS-MAS Financial Industry Crisis Communications Exercise (FICCE) 2016, organising committee member of the ABS-MAS Industry-wide Exercise (IWE) Raffles IV 2014, and member of ABS Business Resilience and Continuity Committee (BRC). 
He often shares his insights at conferences and seminars helping to elevate competencies across the industry.  These include conferences related to FS-ISAC, RSA, ISACA, and SCS on topics of cyber security and resilience, business continuity management, crisis management and technology risk management.

Patrice Conxicoeur

Patrice Conxicoeur was a CEO, HSBC Asset Management (Singapore) Ltd and has been working in the financial industry since 1990. Patrice assumed this position in April 2020. Previously, he was CEO of HSBC Asset Management (Japan) K.K. From 2011-2015, Patrice was Global Head of the Insurance Segment, with overall responsibility for the further business development of HSBC Asset Management with insurance companies globally. Prior to that, Patrice spent three years as Head of Institutional Business for Asia Pacific with HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong. From 2004 to 2008, he was Chief Executive of Sinopia Asset Management, Asia-Pacific. Patrice joined Sinopia in 1992 as an equity fund manager, later becoming Head of Global Equities and subsequently promoted to Head of Strategy, Equities and Balanced Products. Patrice was posted to Asia in 2000, initially in Japan as Chief Executive Officer of Sinopia T&D Asset Management Co, Ltd., and from 2004 in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Sinopia, Patrice worked in Tokyo with Japan Gamma Asset Management. He graduated from the E.M. Lyon Business School (France).

James Cheo

James Cheo is Chief Investment Officer, Southeast Asia for Private Banking and Wealth Management at HSBC. Mr. Cheo is a member of the Global Investment Committee for Private Banking and Wealth Management and also a member of the Regional Investment Committee in Asia. In his role, he spearheads the development of investment strategies across all asset classes for private banking and wealth management clients in Southeast Asia. Prior to re-joining HSBC Private Banking, James was Senior Investment Strategist at Bank of Singapore, where he was responsible for asset allocation and thematic research. Before that, James assumed Investment Strategist roles at Barclays Wealth Asia. From 2004 to 2009, James served as Senior Economist at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he was part of the team that formulated policy actions for Singapore during the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. With his knowledge and wealth of experience, his investment views are frequently sought after. He has established a strong media profile, with appearances on notable financial media including Bloomberg, CNBC, Channel News Asia, Channel 8 Mandarin News; and printed publications such as the Financial Times, Straits Times, Business Times. James graduated with First Class Honours in Finance from Nanyang Technological University. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst charter in 2007.

I have a passion for integrating sustainability into the investment process to achieve necessary and impactful environmental, societal and financial outcomes.

My shift to Sustainability accelerated in recent years, including designing and developing research approaches and shaping corporate strategy. My prior role was as the first Head of Sustainability at Maybank Kim Eng and member of the parent Maybank’s first Group Sustainability Council.

My investment approach is to incorporate both macro and micro factors with emphasis on data and rigorous process. I have built and managed ranked sell-side research teams across multiple countries.

This buy- and sell-side investment experience, across all asset classes and geographies, has provided a unique foundation for my current role. In the past, I have been Merrill Lynch’s Global Sector Strategist, the Global investment strategist at NewSmith’s macro hedge fund and also completed a consulting project on sub-Saharan Africa for Standard Bank.

I have worked in New York, London, Hong Kong (where I grew up) and am now based in Singapore.

Prior to Cargill, Gopul worked in Thailand, Singapore and USA on corporate, project and trade financing, international commodities trading, mergers and acquisition, proprietary fixed income and money markets.

He joined Treasury & Markets in DBS in 1999 and was tasked to build up DBS Greater China trading operations in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. In addition to driving business outcomes, the teams in Greater China have also won many awards and accolades in local and derivatives markets from Asian Risk, Global Finance, Banker, and other leading market intelligence under Jacky’s stewardship.

An avid innovator and market pioneer, Jacky has also represented DBS Hong Kong, Singapore, and China in public forums and associations initiated by regulators such as the Hong Kong Treasury Market Association committee,
ACI, ASFIMA task force, China QFII, Singapore RQFII, FX Global Code, Blue Book, China Bond Connect.
